And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity in the land called America, where men were divorcing their wives to be given in marriage to their best man and where bride's maids began to lie down with the bride. a Supreme Leader came to power. He was known as "The One."

He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you." My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil doers are of no consequence. I shall save you with hope and change. Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the land that he who proceeded me is evil, and that he has defiled your country and all he has built must be destroyed.

And the people rejoiced, for even though they knew not what "The One" would do, He had promised that it would be good; and they believed. And "The One" said " We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!" And the people shouted, "Hallelujah! change is good!"

And He promised that He would nominate to the courts those judges who espouse to the Roe v. Wade mandate of that which is fetal can hereunto be disposed of as fecal. And the people said that women shall maintain the right to choose. And He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats." And the people said "Sock it to them!" "And redistribute their wealth." And the people said, "Show us the money!" And then He said," redistribution of the wealth is good for everyone."

And Joe the plumber asked, " Are you kidding me? You're going to steal my money and give it to the deadbeats?" And "The One" ridiculed and taunted him and Joe's personal records were hacked and publicized. One lone reporter asked, "Isn't that Marxist policy?" after which she was banished from the kingdom.

Then a citizen asked; "With no foreign relations experience and having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with radical terrorists?" And "The One" said, "Simple. I shall sit with them and talk with them and show them how nice we really are; and they will forget that they ever wanted to kill all of us" And the people shouted, "Hallelujah!! We are safe at last. We can beat our weapons into free cars for the people!"

Then "The One" said. "I shall give 95% of you lower taxes.." And one lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY taxes." So "The One" said, "Then I shall give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!" And the people shouted, "Hallelujah! Show us the money!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!" And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed. And He said."I shall mandate employer-funded health care for every worker and raise the minimum wage. And I shall give every person unlimited healthcare and medicine and transportation to the clinics." And the people said, "Give it to us, we deserve it!" Then he said, "I shall penalize employers who ship jobs overseas." And the people said, "Where's my rebate check?"

Then "The One" said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!" And the people said, "Coal is dirty and evil, no more coal! But we don't want higher electric rates." "Verily, verily I say unto you, worry not for if your rebate isn't enough to cover your expenses, I shall bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles will be over!"

Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let's grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs, guaranteed housing and assistance in registering to vote as a Democrat." And the people shouted, "Hallelujah!" and they made him King!

And it came to pass that employers facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy sank like unto a rock dropped into the sea. The banking industry was destroyed; manufacturing slowed to a crawl and more and more people were without means of support.

Then "The One" said, "I am the "the One"- The Messiah - and I'm here to save you! We shall just print more money so everyone will have enough!" But our foreign trading partners said unto Him."Wait a minute. Your dollar is not worth a pile of camel dung! You will have to pay more. And "The One" said, "Wait a minute. That is unfair!!" And the world said, "Neither are these other idiotic programs you have embraced. And Lo, you have become a socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you shall play by our rules!"

And the people cried out, "Alas, alas!! What have we done?" But yea verily, it was too late. The people set upon "The One" and spat upon him and stoned him, and his name was dung. And the once mighty nation was no more; the once proud people were without sustenance or shelter or hope. And the Change "The One" had given them was as like unto a poison that had destroyed them and like a whirlwind that consumed all that they had built.

And the people beat their chests in despair and cried out in anguish, "give us back our nation and our pride and our hope!!" But it was too late, their homeland was no more.

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has
intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop
the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting
an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to
hunt, pray, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology
professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at
night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood
producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose
acreage borders North Dakota. The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry.
He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken.
When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show
him my screenplay, eh?

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences,
but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared
Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The
liberals still got through and Rush annoyed the cows so much that they
wouldn't give any milk.

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near
the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them
across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves.

"A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an
Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle
of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley
Cabernet, though.

"When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often
wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have
been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where
liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch
NASCAR races.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the
border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy
cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half- dozen young vegans
in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping
buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizens about Perry Como and
Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't
identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very
suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating
an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies.

"I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just
can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history majors
does one country need?"

In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada , Vice
President Biden met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the
administration would take steps to reassure liberals. A source close to
President Obama said, "We're going to have some Paul McCartney and Peter,
Paul & Mary concerts. And we might even put some endangered species on
postage stamps. The President is determined to reach out," he said.

The Herald will be interested to see if Obama can actually raise Mary
from the dead in time for the concert!

For it is by grace we are saved, through faith—and this not from ourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works (or the Boy Scouts), so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8 You obviously know nothing about the Boy Scouts either. It is not a Christian Boy's Club. Also, you don't get to Heaven by helping little old ladies across the street or keeping your shoes shined or learning how to tie knots. Salvation is a gift from God and all you need to do is realize that you dont have it, admit to God that you are a sinner and repent of your sin; believe in your heart that Christ died for your sin and in so doing He paid your sin debt; accept that gift of forgiveness and receive Christ as savior. Very simple. Does not require rocket science or boy scouting, religion or denominationalism. It's just an agreement between you and your Creator. I don't know why everyone makes it so difficult. I don't understand why atheists are so committed to their religion of hatred and contempt for Christians except that I realize Christians are at war with Satan, who is also very real. He doesn't want you believing in him (Satan) either. If you realized that Satan exists; that would give you a clue that God might also exist. He wants you to remain in the dark; to keep hating Christians and to keep doing what you can to keep others from accepting Christ. As far as you are concerned; he is doing a great job. Keep calling me a liar, dillusionary, hypocritical, whatever. He has you hoodwinked into believing that the Universe created itself out of nothing and that all of the absolute miracles of life were an accident, waiting to happen. Make no mistake about it; there will be people on the Day of Judgment that are going to be expecting to go to heaven, yet instead of inheriting the Kingdom, they are going to hear those saddening words of Christ; “Depart from Me, I never knew you.” There will be deacons, deaconesses, Sabbath school teachers, Elders, Pastors, TV evangelists, miracle workers along with countless others (ie. all church people!) that will be turned away–and all because they lacked one very necessary qualification; they didn’t truly know the Lord and so He will be forced to say to them, “…depart from Me, for I never knew you.” Matthew 7: 21-23 This also includes those who claimed to be Christian and decided to become an atheist. You all need to be in prayer about this because your eternal destiny is at stake. If you are sincere in your prayer, God will hear you. If you want to poo poo this. You will remain at square one and square one is no place to be.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Thursday evening to meet with him directly. During a speech at the home of United States Ambassador James Cunningham, ahead of Sunday's 4th of July celebrations, Netanyahu said, "I am ready to meet you face to face, today or tomorrow, here or anywhere. Come, let's not waste another 15 months of doing nothing." Netanyahu has been in office 15 months. He is scheduled to visit U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington, DC next week. American Middle East envoy George Mitchell is currently in the Middle East. We'll see if the PA is willing to seek true peace with Israel. I will not hold my breath.

Is Your Eternal Destiny Really a Debatable Issue?

Even if you were to win a debate with me; I am not your competitor. You are the Captain of your sinking ship. I am just trying to explain that Jesus Christ offers salvation as a gift. That doesn't make me better or smarter or more important than you. Just because I tell you of what Christ has done for me; you atheists attack me an curse me because you think I am laughing and pointing a finger. I admit that there are times, in my frustration, that I say things that I shouldn't. But, as I have said, I am not perfect. Ask yourself why I would get up in the morning, get my coffee, and sit down at a computer and start writing a bunch of, what you consider as drivel, to someone I don't know, and someone who really doesn't give a flip about me, if I didn't care and if I didn't want to share.

You can always find questions to ask me that I can't answer about God. But can you explain how the Universe first came into existence? Or maybe something easier; what is gravity? Tell me what causes light to travel at 186,000 miles per second instead of 190,000 miles per second. Scientists question why atoms hold together when they should repel like magnets because of their electronegative charge. The Bible answers that question for me. Colossians 1:17 says about Jesus; "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." Hebrews 11:3 says; "By faith we understand that the Universe was created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." When did man with his great wisdom discover the atom and that the Universe is made of a bunch of atoms that somehow stick together? Of course you atheists poo poo everything the Bible says, but the Bible was and is the first science book. If you read it and study it and take it to heart; you will realize what born again Christians are realizing; it is Truth. It is human nature for someone to share the secret of their success in life; how they found the pot of gold. That's what Christian are supposed to do with Jesus. You think I am losing a debate. If I lose the debate; what will you have gained? One-upsmanship? An atta-boy? Better yet; what will you have done for me? Are you debating me because you want me to have a better life with atheism or maybe to start worshipping Evolutos, the god of evolution? The Bible says that Satan is the god of this world and if you look around at the sin and disease and debauchery and filth and death; it appears that Satan is winning. I don't want to believe in Satan the same as you don't want to believe in God. But Satan is real, too. I don't know why, so don't ask. But he has already lost the debate and his day is coming. Your day is coming too, my friend. Don't blame the messenger If you are breathing right now; it's not too late.

I did some of my own research after reading this. Why was his law license inactivated in 2002?
Why was Michelle s law license INACTIVATED by court order?

There is only one Barack Hussein Obama according to the U. S. Census and he has 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases.
The one he uses now originated in Connecticut where he is not ever reported to have lived. No wonder ALL of his 'records' are sealed!!!

Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him.

Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983.
In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a SINGLE PERSON at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me.
I don't have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia. EVER! Nobody recalls him.
I'm not exaggerating, I'm not kidding.
"Root adds that he was also, like Obama, "Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that.
Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him.
At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack!

And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say in New York, the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him.
Is that not strange? It's VERY strange. "Obama's photograph does NOT appear in the school's 'yearbook' and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia.

In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a
"National Day of Prayer."

In 1988 President Reagan designated the First Thursday in
May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.

In June 2007 (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama
declared that the USA was no longer a Christian nation.

This year President Obama canceled the 21st annual National Day
of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the rouse of
"not wanting to offend anyone"

On September 25, 2009 from 4am until 7pm, a National Day
of Prayer for the Muslim religion was held on Capitol Hill,
beside the White House.

There were over 50,000 Muslims that Day in DC.

I guess it doesn't matter if "Christians" are offended by
this event - We obviously don't count as "anyone" anymore.

The direction this country is headed can be frightening, especially
when you realize that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians
cannot be converted they should be annihilated.

Just remember who is really in control.

Rise To A Higher Calling

In his book, "Why I Became an Atheist," John Loftus (2008) rages
about how suffering and evil betray the believer. Thus, he could
no longer pretend God existed. He questions how anyone could
possibly follow a “god” who is either powerless or apathetic about
the human condition. Why would someone even want to follow such
a god?

Yet, who are we humans to make such arrogant accusations? We have
kicked God out of our schools and then demand to know why He allows
school shootings. We have kicked God out of our homes and then
demand to know why He allows child abuse. We have kicked God out of
our families and then demand to know why He allows our children to
become addicts and emotionally troubled.

We have banned God from our governments and then demand to know
why He allows our governments to be corrupt and repressive. We have
ignored God in our society and then cannot understand why He allows
our society to be so decadent—filled with adultery, drug addiction,
child pornography, embezzlement, fraud, broken homes, and even
corruption of those who are supposed to defend and protect us. We
have killed millions of innocent unborn children and call it
“choice”; yet we demand to know why God allows our societies to be
filled with murder and violence. We have filled our bodies with
various drugs and wonder why God allows newborn infants to suffer
from afflictions such as fetal alcohol syndrome or heroin
addiction. We have filled our minds with evil and violence and
then demand to know why God does not stop us from our evil and
violent actions.

We have kicked God out of this world and have crowned a new
prince (John 12:30–32; 14:29–30). We have flouted God’s laws and
then blame Him for the consequences of our lawlessness. We have
told God to not be part of our lives, our community, and our world
and in so doing have caused Him to remove His presence and
protection from our societies. Yet, we then become angry when He
does not protect us from natural disasters or the consequences
of our own sin. We fail to give God glory, yet we are anxious to
give Him the blame.

What is more, the presence of evil and disease in the world is not an “insurmountable” problem for Christianity. Many strong
theological answers have been provided. (Although some theologians
struggle with an answer since their evolution-based answers are weak
and inconsistent.) Undoubtedly, for critics such as Loftus, no
answer will be acceptable. Not only because he is a poor
philosopher (his book is a series of philosophical inconsistencies),
but also he does not really seek an answer. He is easily pacified
with the thought that if there is evil there cannot be a loving
God. He has little interest in any deeper understanding.

It is also sadly amusing that many so-called “Christians-turned-
atheists” claim that in becoming atheists they felt some form of
liberation. Liberation from what? God’s love? Grace? Forgiveness?
I suspect their “god” probably never offered these. Actually, it
would seem to be more a liberation from any sense of
responsibility and accountability. And, this somehow enables the
expression of a “higher human nature”? It has been my observation
that when accountability is removed, we humans are magnificent at
fabricating a “truth” that fits our own purposes. In so doing, we
are merely seeking to justify our sin. Also, if a situation or
event does not suit our needs, we rationalize a substitute. History,
for example, is being rewritten to offer a more “nonreligious”
verdict: a historical verdict that can be used to rationalize that
God does not move in the lives of His people; that man,
without God, can achieve his own greatness and goodness; that man,
without God, is not lost in an abyss of moral decay and destruction.
Yet, the nightly news tells a far different story. When we become
accountable only to ourselves, then we have made ourselves God. And
humans are terrible at being God. In the early 1960s, Stanley
Milgram began conducting a series ofcontroversial experiments
(Milgram, 1974).

Milgram tested people’s compliancy to a perceived “authority” who
instructed them to inflict pain on others. He found that only a
small minority of people defied the “authority” and stopped
inflicting the pain. Sadly, such experiments reveal how easily
humans can be coerced into negative behavior. What happened to
the innate moral code? It also illustrates how susceptible we can
be to negative social pressures. (Nazi soldiers typically argued
they were “just following orders.”) It took less than 3 days for
hurricane-damaged New Orleans to break down into social anarchy.
Where was the social constraint? All too easily, a new wave of
Nazi-type brutality could sweep the world.

When Christ said to love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 19:19)
and to love and pray for your enemies (Matt. 5:44), He was not
simply confirming how humans naturally act and think. Contrary to
Maslow and others, this is not human nature. Jesus was not telling
us to “do what comes naturally.” Instead, He was telling us to deny
our own natural, selfish desires and rise to a higher calling: a
calling that cannot be based upon our own desires of self
gratification, which produce the opposite; a calling that
cannot result from social opinion, which is never consistent or
selfless; a calling that cannot result from “being happy,” as that
is merely a subjective state of mind, subject to change every day.

It is a calling that is beyond a “wager” of best probable outcomes.
It is a calling that places Christianity above all human, earthly
teachings. It is a calling from the Creator, who knows what
brings peace and fulfillment into our lives. It is a calling from
Jesus, who has all authority over His creation (Matt 28:18).

There is an old Pub in Marble Arch,London, which used to have adjacent gallows.

Prisoners were taken to the gallows (after a fair trial of course) to be hung.

The horse drawn dray, carting the prisoner was accompanied by an armed guard, who would stop the dray outside the pub and ask the prisoner if he would like ''ONE LAST DRINK''.

If he said YES, it was referred to as “ONE FOR THE ROAD”

If he declined, that prisoner was “ON THE WAGON”

So there you go. More bleedin' history.

They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then, once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive you were "piss poor".... But , worse than that, were the really poor folk, who couldn’t even afford to buy a pot. They didn’t have a pot to piss in & were the "lowest of the low".

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children, - last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it, - hence the saying, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water"!

Houses had thatched roofs, thick straw piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs and so on) lived in the roof. When it rained, it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof, - hence the saying "it's raining cats and dogs".

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom, where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed, - hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt, - hence the saying, "dirt poor". The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way, - hence the term: "the thresh hold". (Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen, with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight, and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while, - hence the rhyme: ''peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot, nine days old''.

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, "bring home the bacon". They would cut off a little to share with guests, and would all sit around talking and ''chew the fat''.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning & death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so, for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or ''the upper crust''.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up, - hence the custom of ''holding a wake''.

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people, so they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive, so they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night - "the graveyard shift" - to listen for the bell, - thus, someone could be, ''saved by the bell '' - or was considered a ''dead ringer''

Tiktaalik Demoted to a Has-Been

The highly-publicized tetrapod missing link or “fish-a-pod” that
made headlines in 2006 has been dethroned by new findings in Poland.
Trackways said to be 18 million years older than Tiktaalik, showing digits and alternating steps, were announced today in Nature.1 The authors said, “They force a
radical reassessment of the timing, ecology and environmental
setting of the fish-tetrapod transition, as well as the completeness
of the body fossil record.”

Here is a sample of the revolutionary talk being reported:
· “These results force us to reconsider our whole picture
of the transition from fish to land animals” said co-discoverer
Per Ahlberg in ScienceDaily.2
· The finding “could lead to significant shifts in our
knowledge of the timing and ecological setting of early
tetrapod evolution.” — Ted Daeschler in National Geographic
News.3
· “The team says the find means that land vertebrates
appeared millions of years earlier than previously supposed....
the Zachelmie Quarry tetrapods break the neat and simple timeline.” (BBC News4).
· “The fish-tetrapod transition was thus seemingly quite
well documented.... Now, however, Niedzwiedzki et al lob
a grenade into that picture.” — Janvier and Clement,
commenting on the find in Nature.5
· “It blows the whole story out of the water, so to speak.”
— Jenny Clack (Harvard), in PhysOrg.6
· “We didn’t know they existed at this point, and we
would not have expected to have found them in this environment.”
— Per Ahlberg, co-discoverer, in Live Science.7
No body fossils were found. This means that inferences about
the trackmakers will be limited. Readers should therefore take
caution at the artist reconstructions in some articles, such as
National Geographic, that try to give the animals a fish-like
appearance. PhysOrg noted, “Although she acknowledged their
importance, Clack warned against drawing conclusions exclusively
on small marks left by animals on the bottom of a muddy surface
hundreds of millions of years ago [mya].” The tracks are dated
397 mya, whereas Tiktaalik was dated around 380 mya. The
scientists inferred that the trackmakers were sizeable — about 2
meters long. Since no tail drag prints are seen, the animals must
have had limbs strong enough to hold their bodies above ground
(see illustrations in the BBC News).
Another bombshell is that this may not be the only grenade
to be lobbed into the picture. The discoverers noted with interest
that trackways from Glenisla dated late Silurian (418–422 mya),
thought to be those of arthropods, may actually be vertebrate
tetrapod tracks as well.8 And the new Polish trackways open the
door to more finds like it. “Obviously the hunt is on,” Ahlberg
said, for more trackways and body fossils from that period and the
locale’s presumed intertidal environment. Janvier and Clement
said,
Niedzwiedzki and colleagues’ apparently anachronistic Eifelian
[397–391 mya] tetrapod trackways will thus shake
up thinking about tetrapod origins. They show that the
first tetrapods thrived in the sea, trampling the mud of
coral-reef lagoons; this is at odds with the long-held view
that river deltas and lakes were the necessary environments
for the transition from water to land during vertebrate
evolution. And in guiding the search for a gradual timing
of the fin-limb transition during the Middle Devonian, they
are likely to trigger a burst of field investigations into
potential tetrapodomorph fish sites of Emsian [497–397 mya]
or earlier age.

DNA Repair Requires Teamwork
As if the genetic code itself were not incredible enough,
researchers have been finding systems that repair it. There
are numerous pathways the cell can embark on to fix DNA errors.
Two key players were recently described in more detail in the
journal Science.1
A damaged genetic code is worse than a book with typos.
Broken or mismatched DNA strands can lead to serious diseases
and even death. It is essential that DNA damage be recognized
and repaired quickly. ScienceDaily2 reported results by a team at
Rockefeller University and Harvard Medical School that found
two essential proteins that act like “molecular tailors” that can snip
out an error and sew it back up with the correct molecules. These
proteins, FANC1 and FANCD2, repair inter-strand crosslinks,
“one of the most lethal types of DNA damage.” This
problem “occurs when the two strands of the double
helix are linked together, blocking replication and transcription.”
Each of your cells is likely to get 10 alarm
calls a day for inter-strand crosslinks.
What do the proteins do to fix it? They link together and join
other members of the repair pathway. The scientists found that
FANC1 and FANCD2 are intimately involved in the excision and
insertion steps.
This one repair operation requires 13 protein parts. “If any
one of the 13 proteins in this pathway is damaged, the result is
Fanconi anemia, a blood disorder that leads to bone marrow failure
and leukemia, among other cancers, as well as many physiological
defects,” the article said. The original paper put it, “Our results
show that multiple steps of the essential S-phase ICL repair mechanism
fail when the Fanconi anemia pathway is compromised.”
Neither the paper nor the press release said anything about how
this tightly-integrated system might have evolved.

Genealogy from Adam to Noah

You will find from the Scriptures that it was common for people to name children with a meaning. Usually it would describe an attribute, an act in their lives, or something to come. A great example of this is Jesus, Whose name means salvation.

Hebrew names come from a root word, for example Adam comes from the root word ‘adomah’ which means ‘man’. This is a fitting name as he was the first man.

As we carry on throughout this genealogy, we can dig up the meanings of the names from their Hebrew roots. For time’s sake I will only give a few examples of root words, but remember what God said to us in Proverbs 25:2, "It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them."

Continuing through Genesis 5, we find Seth is next in line after Adam. Seth’s name means ‘appointed’, you will find a reference to this in Gen 4:25, where Eve says God has appointed her another son in place of Abel who had been killed by Cain.

After this we find Enosh which means ‘mortal’. The root is ‘anash’ which mean incurable, wound, grief… You can see how his name means mortal with words like that associated with it!

Next we have Kenan which means ’sorrow’. Some of these name meanings are a bit sombre, I don’t think I would like to be named sorrow! I wonder why parents would name their child that?

Next we have Mahalalel. Things get a bit brighter with the meaning of his name. The first portion ‘mahalal’ means ‘blessed’ or ‘praise’, and ‘El’ is the name for God. (When you see ‘El’ in any name it has God’s name built into it, like Daniel.) So Mahalalel means ‘the blessed God’.

Next we have Jared which means ’shall come down’. A rather odd meaning for a name? But read on and you shall see…

After this we have Enoch, which means ‘teaching’ or ‘commencement’. We know from the book of Hebrews that Enoch did not die – he was taken up by the Lord. His story is one of salvation. At 65 years old, he turned to God and walked with Him for the remainder of his 300 years of life, as a prophet proclaiming God’s judgment on a corrupt Earth.

The judgment would later come by the Great Flood in Noah’s time. There is a lot to talk about when it comes to Enoch, but I will save it for another day. I’d also love to address the reason for the long life spans in the Bible.

Next we have Methuselah. His name means ‘his death shall bring’. Methuselah’s name is actually a prophecy for the day of his death, for the Great Flood ‘his death shall bring.’

You will find a great show of Gods grace in this for Methuselah has the longest life span recorded in Scripture. God gave the world 969 years to turn from sin. But they did not.

Next we have Lamech, the root of his name means ‘despairing’. You will see the meaning of his name still evident in the English word ‘lament’.

Now last but not least, we have Noah. His name comes from the word ‘nacham’ which means ‘to bring relief’. Noah’s name means ‘comfort’ and ‘rest’.

And we’re done, from Adam all the way to Noah! Now this is where it gets good. I’m sure you will find it worthwhile.

Is the above just a genealogy filled with interesting names? Or is it something more? Now that we’ve found the root meanings of each name, let’s put them all in order:

Adam - Man
Seth - Appointed
Enosh – Mortal
Kenan – Sorrow
Mahalalel – The blessed God
Jared – Shall come down
Enoch – Teaching
Methuselah – His death shall bring
Lamech – Despairing
Noah – Comfort and rest

Put those meanings into a complete sentence and you get: Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow, (but) the blessed God shall come down teaching. His death shall bring (the) despairing comfort and rest.

And there you have it, in the names of Adam to Noah, a summary of the New Testament message – the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

For Jesus is Himself God, who came to down to Earth to teach. His sacrificial death on the cross washed away the sins of despairing man, and gave them comfort and rest.

Wow that’s great eh! I would say there is no way it could be by chance. A seemingly boring genealogy holds inside itself a short summary of the New Testament, and also holds the statement that Jesus is God.

Jesus was right when He said the whole of Scripture speaks of Him! The Bible has the fingerprint of God all over it. It has a depth that we could spend all of eternity searching. And if we search with the power of the Spirit, He will show us the wonders to be found in the Scriptures.

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science.

The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.z

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

State of the Union Address as viewed in the United Kingdom

As expected, Barack Obama’s 70 minute State of the Union address focused heavily on the
economy and the domestic political agenda. This was hardly surprising in
the aftermath of last week’s catastrophic defeat for his party in the
Massachusetts special Senate election, where the Republicans scored an historic victory.
American voters are turning strongly against the president’s health care
reform package as well as his big government vision for the economy, which has
contributed to spiraling public debt and mounting unemployment, now standing at over
10 percent.

But the scant attention paid in the State of the Union
speech to US leadership was pitiful and frankly rather pathetic. The war
in Afghanistan, which will soon involve a hundred thousand American troops,
merited barely a paragraph. There was no mention of victory over the enemy,
just a reiteration of the president’s pledge to begin a withdrawal in July
2011. Needless to say there was nothing in the speech about the importance of
international alliances, and no recognition whatsoever of the sacrifices made by Great
Britain and other NATO allies alongside the United States on the battlefields of
Afghanistan. For Barack Obama the Special Relationship means nothing, and
tonight’s address further confirmed this.

Significantly, the global war against al-Qaeda was hardly mentioned, and
there were no measures outlined to enhance US security at a time of mounting
threats from Islamist terrorists. Terrorism is a top issue for American voters,
but President Obama displayed what can only be described as a stunning
indifference towards the defence of the homeland. The Iranian nuclear threat, likely to be the biggest
foreign policy issue of 2010, was given just two lines in the speech, with a
half-hearted warning of “growing consequences” for Tehran, with no details
given at all. There were no words of support for Iranian protestors who have been
murdered, tortured and beaten in large numbers by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s thuggish
security forces, and no sign at all that the president cared about their plight.
Nor was there any condemnation of the brutality of the Iranian regime, as
well as its blatant sponsorship of terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As the example of Iran showed, the advance of freedom
and liberty across the world in the face of tyranny was not even a footnote in the
president’s speech.

I cannot think of a US president in modern times who has
attached less importance to human rights issues. For the hundreds of
millions of people across the world, from Burma to Sudan to Zimbabwe, clamouring to
be free of oppression, there was not a shred of hope offered in Barack Obama’s
address. Obama’s world leadership in his first year in office
has been weak-kneed and little short of disastrous. He has sacrificed the
projection of American power upon the altar of political vanity, with empty speeches and
groveling apologies across the world, from Strasbourg to Cairo. He has appeased
some of America’s worst enemies, and has extended the hand of friendship to
many of the most odious regimes on the face of the earth. Judging by the
State of the Union address tonight, we can expect more of the same from an
American president who seems determined to lead the world’s greatest power along
a path of decline.

The UN's Conference on Climate Change got underway this week in Copenhagen, Denmark. With thousands of delegates from most of the world's nations and more than 100 heads of state due to make appearances, this conclave has a sense of urgency about it not even seen at the opening of the United Nations.

The 'Climategate' scandal seems to have added fuel to the fire. The conference organizers realize they have to ram their agenda through before it's too late. Even the conference president acknowledged this in her opening remarks. Connie Hedegaard, former Danish Climate and Energy Minister, said, "This is our chance. If we miss it, it could take years before we got a new and better one. If we ever do." That sounds a lot like US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announcing at the European Union that our government was taking advantage of the global economic crisis to ram home massive changes under the guise of responding to the emergency. She actually said, "Never waste a good crisis."

If the Administration gets its way, we'll see massive increases in the cost of all fossil fuel energy. It's an open secret that the government wants the price of gasoline to hit $8.00 per gallon. That, in turn, will drive the price of everything that requires energy, including manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, heating and cooling, through the roof.

Copenhagen is all about controlling the world's energy sources, then being able to dictate how that energy will be distributed - and taxed. Many strategically-placed individuals (Al Gore and George Soros come to mind), government officials (too long a list here), political parties (take a guess), corporations (GE is leading the pack), and science institutions and universities (as well as the scientists who receive huge government grants for coming up with the goods) will grow massively wealthy as a result. But, trust me, none of it will filter down to you and me. In fact, we'll be the ones paying the new taxes to enrich these parties and many of the 'underdeveloped' countries in the world.

You know, it's ironic that some of the underdeveloped nations in Africa that depend on income from their oil sales will be hurt by the drive to eliminate fossil fuels as an energy source. I suppose that's why the 'developed' countries will be expected to replace that lost income. It's sort of like the Obama Administration demanding that Israel freeze settlement construction in the West Bank. A freeze puts thousands of Palestinians out of work in the construction business. Come to think of it, the Administration's policies will do the same thing right here in America. At least they're consistent!

I believe that what we are now witnessing in "Hopenhagen" is perhaps the most concrete step toward a one-world bureaucratic regime in recent history. And it could reduce some of the world's most prosperous nations to the level of third world countries.

To give our President some bargaining clout in Copenhagen, the Environmental Protection Agency this week declared 'greenhouse gases,' most notably carbon dioxide, a public health hazard. This allows the EPA to regulate it - read that 'tax it' and 'outlaw it' - under the Clean Air Act. The Supreme Court had ruled that the Administration had to go back to Congress for that authority. No longer. This declaration by the EPA, just in time for Copenhagen, is almost a criminal circumvention of the Constitution. The Agency has already begun developing permit requirements for 'carbon dioxide pollution.' And I'm sure those permits will cost a pretty penny.

Oh, yeah. Just in case you don't know, carbon dioxide is what we humans breathe out. Plants breathe it in and make oxygen. So I guess that means we'll now be taxing air!

The Importance of the Dead Sea Scrolls

In 1947, Bedouin goat herders were searching the cliffs along the Dead Sea for (supposedly) a lost goat and came upon a cave containing ancient jars filled with manuscripts. Some of these manuscripts made their way to scholars, spurring a great archaeological race.

Eleven caves produced some 825 manuscripts and thousands of scroll fragments, dating from approximately 200 B.C. to 68 A.D. The writings included copies in the original Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament (all but Esther), hymns, prayers, and Jewish writings. Much of the writings pre-date Jesus, so there is no direct mention of him. The strict Qumran community called the Essenes hid their writings in the caves before a Roman invasion killed them.

What makes these manuscripts so amazingly important to archeologists is that before 1947 the oldest copy available of the Old Testament was from 1008 A.D. Scholars could finally take our most modern Hebrew and Aramaic copies and compare them to the older Dead Sea Scrolls and try to find potential differences. What they found were accurate copies.

Like the transcribers since Jesus' time, transcribers during the Old Testament times were also sticklers for accurately copying the Word of God from one parchment to the next. Each copy had to be made on a brand new writing surface and had to be prepared in a specific way. Each copy had to be written in a certain number of columns of thirty letters width, with a certain number of lines to each column. Each copy had to be written in a certain color and quality of ink. Each copy had to be made from an authenticated original.

Not even the tiniest letter could be written from memory, as one would glance at the word "to" and write the letters "t" and "o" before glancing back at the original; but every letter was copied singly from the original. No letter could connect with or overlap another letter. The distance between each letter was measured by a single hair or thread. Every letter of every page and book was counted and compared against the original. The number of times each letter of the alphabet occurred in a book was counted and compared against the original. The middle letter of the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Old Testament) and the middle letter of the entire Hebrew Bible were computed and indicated in the text. If one of these calculations was incorrect, the copy was discarded.

What makes the Dead Sea Scrolls so amazingly important to the rest of us is that we can take our Old Testament today and know it compares accurately with a copy from 2000 years ago. They help show us that we can trust that the Bible is the true and accurate word of God, and build our understanding and faith in God upon it.

A Sociology professor had some exchange students enrolled in his class. One day a student from an Eastern European country asked this question: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms -- just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Obama and the Democrats are trying to catch wild pigs. As soon as there are enough of us eating their free corn, they will shut the gate on us. Eventually, there will be no corn and we will be buying rice from China.

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz. We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the Chosen People, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe ...

GOD IS IN CONTROL AND OBAMA IS NOT GOD

As I write this to post on the Internet, it is frightening to think that I may lose the freedom to express myself like this. And if you are watching what
is going on around you, you know what I mean. Many of out elected officials, both Democrat and Republican, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT
uniting behind Obama! I didn't unite behind Obama! I will respect the
Office he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator
and word smith and pray for him, BUT that is it.

I am making an effort to see what I can do to make sure He is a
one-term President!

Why am I doing this?

It is because I do not share Obama's vision or his value system for America;

I do not share his philosophy on Abortion;

I do not share his radical Marxist concept of re-distributing wealth;

I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make
$150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);

I do not share his view that America is Arrogant;

I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation; although I do believe that born-again Christianity is on the decline.

I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;

I do not share his view of amnesty or in giving more to illegals than
American Citizens who need help; (NO WAY, HOSEA!)

I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of
marriage;

I do not share his views that Islam wants to be our friend and that we should turn our back on Israel

I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made
public);

I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the health care system in
America ;

I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do
not share his plan to sit down to tea with terrorist regimes such as Iran .

Bottom line, my American dream is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a
higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is Right!

For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous
entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for
their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and
his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their
philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their
personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed
my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being
intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have
mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding
and growth of our Country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of God and Jesus Christ
from our Society!

They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and
the most basic principles of our criminal code; They have attacked one
of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech! And,
they forgot what this country was built on Christian principles! They
fail to realize when they took "God out of everything" this country went
on a downhill spiral fast and still is!

Unite behind Obama? Never!

I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are
the Embodiment of Evil!

PRESIDENT BUSH
Made mistakes during his Presidency, (EVERY PRESIDENT DOES) however; I
believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established
Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!

Majority rules in America, and I will honor the concept; however, I will
fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his
goals for America " Because I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!

Now Obama is President and is showing his true colors, and I pray that
everyone will wake up the many who have sat on the sidelines
and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-God crowd to slowly change so
much of what has been good in America!

The group Americans for Freedom of Information has released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.

The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a Co urt Order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California . The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a Fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for U.S. citizenship, this is looking pretty grim . The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as President.

When reached for comment in London , where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue.

Britain ’s Daily Mail also carried the story in a front-page article titled, Obama Eligibility Questioned leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K.

In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arg uments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey

This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as President. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama' s citizenship or qualification to serve as President.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Â Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending.

This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with 11 law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter
